Queensland Cyclones Team Announced

In December each year the Queensland Cyclones State Team is selected by the State Selection Panel to compete in the Interstate Championships. The Queensland team consists of 8 U15s, 8 U17s and 10 Open athletes as well as one Open male and one Open female Surf Boat Crew.

This year we have had an overwhelming amount of competitors selected for the team which will compete next weekend.  Congratulations to those Kurrawa members that were selected.  The entire Club is very proud!!

Joel Klein is a hero

One of our members, Joel Klein used his life saving skills last week to save someones life.

Whilst over at the Club tying his ski on the trailer for the weekend carnival a member of the public yelled out for help as a man had collapsed in the public amentities.

Joel and the member of the public immediately commenced CPR and brought him back to life, and then left him in the hands of ambulance officers.

What a great example of how important surf life saving is and well done Joel!

Steph Worlds Best

Kurrawa member Stephanie Ballentine has claimed top honours at the recent 2011 German Pool Rescue competition taking out the coveted Champion Female Competitor title.

Steph finished points ahead of any of her rivals and contributed to the team finishing second overall to Germany in the competition.

Congratulations Steph from the entire Club.

Navy Series Rd 3

The Kurrawa boat crews has been tagges as "on of the best-performed clubs in the series across all divisions", after the weekends round three of the Navy Series.

In an underdog upset Kurrawa Wolfpack finished second behind Alexandra Headland, and the Open women placing thrid.
