As many of you have heard, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced this morning that we are now restricted to having 100 people in the venue at one time.

Because of this, we have had to make some adjustments to our business effective immediately:

  • We are counting people in and out to comply with new rules

  • We have indefinitely postponed our weekly promotions, this includes:

    • Tuesday & Thursday Night Member’s Draw

    • Sunday’s Splash for Cash

    • March’s Pot of Gold gaming promotion

    • Raffles

  • Trivia on level 2 will be going ahead tonight however numbers will be monitored to ensure we are compliant

  • We will no longer be accepting keepcups

  • We will no longer be taking bookings online

    • If you would like to make a booking please call the Club directly on 07 5527 5660

  • We will no longer be offering our buffet breakfast on weekends

    • This mean the Club will now be opening at 10am 7 days a week

  • We have reduced the number of tables available in the bistro to allow for social distancing

    • If there is an overflow of tables, customers may be moved up to Beachfront on level 2

  • Cutlery and a napkin are now available in individual sleeves to avoid contamination by other guests

  • Some gaming machines will be made temporarily unavailable in our air conditioned gaming lounge to allow for social distancing

This being the case, we need to let you know that we desperately need your help to keep all our Community Clubs going during these very uncertain times.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

For clarity, the Australian Government’s ban on ‘non-essential’ gatherings of more than 500 people, DOES NOT include the normal trading/operating practices of the hospitality sector.

The Health & Safety of our Members, Guests and Staff is a priority.

For the management of Kurrawa Surf Club, protecting the health of our members, guests and staff and the environments in which they socialise and work is paramount, and as such, we are employing the advice of the Commonwealth Department of Health, the World Health Organisation and the relevant authorities to ensure that we are provided with and are providing, the most consistent and up to date guidelines on infection control and the COVID-19 virus which is available.

What can you do to help?

  • We request that all visitors evaluate their own health and that of people they are in close contact with

  • We ask that all visitors stay at home if they begin to feel unwell, even with mild symptoms such as a headache and slight runny nose

  • You must not attend the Club if any of the following apply:

- You have left or transited through the following countries within the past 14 days (Mainland China, Iran, Republic of Korea, Italy or other updated country)
- You have been in close contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or is displaying symptoms of COVID-19
- You have been directed to self-isolate

We encourage all visitors to adhere to the following important safety measures that the World Health Organisation have recommended to limit the spread of COVID-19:

  • Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water

  • Maintain at least 1 metre distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth

  • Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Immediately dispose of the used tissue

In addition to the above, we have already put in place the following important safety measures at Kurrawa Surf Club;

  • Enhanced arrangements for workplace hygiene and cleaning protocols,

  • Increasing the number of hand sanitiser stations throughout the Club in effort to cover most entry, exit and touch points,

  • Increased frequency of cleaning touch points throughout the Club. E.g. Tables, kiosks, points of sales, button panels, CRTs, ATMs, door handles and the like

  • All cutlery is now polished by staff with gloves and we have reduced the amount of cutlery available on the stations at any one time

As of today, Kurrawa Surf Club have not had any incidences of coronavirus reported by our staff or customers and we will be directing all staff who either have or will be travelling overseas, or who have been in contact with a confirmed case, to not return to work and self-isolate for a 14-day period. At this stage, we can assure you of the continuity of our services, that we have contingency plans in place and have increased our (what are already 5 star) hygiene standards and request that all customers adhere to these same guidelines.

Thank you for your cooperation.
