Kurrawa Take On Team Navy ASRL

We had three crews compete over the weekend at the Team Navy ASRL. The conditions were perfect for surfboat racing and I can't remember a better carnival for action; big surf and all of our skills to be tested!

Col’s Junior Crew did themselves proud finishing in first place after the elimination rounds on Day 1 of racing.

The boys rowed really well and with the conditions testing all of us any small mistake became the undoing of many crews over the weekend.

Friday we had the Koasters Reserve Grade Crew race and show their experience in the big waves, finishing with a second and a first in the early heats.

On Sunday the boys came unstuck with a poor start and in the process we got buried under a big wave off the edge.

The Killers A Grade Crew had mixed results finishing out of the mix on Saturday - it was disappointing as we know we were able to handle the surf better but it was the simple errors that cost us; in Open Men's Rowing every mistake gets exposed and the boys will bounce back in preparation for States!

We all got back safe and sound and we will be in full training mode, preparing for States and Aussies.
