The first stage of training for our Nippers is provided on a Sunday morning through the summer months.
This is a great opportunity for our Nippers to gain basic surf survival skills and meet other members within their age group. We aim to make our Sunday Nippers program a fun and safe environment where our youngest members begin their journey as lifesavers. Kurrawa Surf Club also offers additional midweek training sessions to further improve the skills of our Nippers. These sessions are offered free of charge by our professional coaching team. We strongly recommend you seek out these opportunities as the more time Nippers spend in the ocean, the more confidence they gain.
As our Nippers confidence and skills improve, we encourage them to participate in competitions offered throughout the season. Carnivals are a great way to meet the entire surf life saving community and practice the skills learnt in a competitive environment. Kurrawa SLSC prides itself on being the gold standard across all life saving activities and surf sports is a major component of our successful Club.
Foamie boards are available for all U8 & U10s who attend training at no extra charge.
Kurrawa offers its members the opportunity to apply for the use of club owned fibreglass boards for members in the U11-U14 age groups.
